This is an old tradition we had on the shard i played previously, i find out that this is not only fun to make but it also works as monthly top 5 role-play apreciation and not only RP, PvP and what not.

Here how it works: im gona place a few categorys that you can place names of the characters you think are the best suiting for it i also advise to be as impartial as possible, you can also name yourself in any category you think you are the best choice, no room for modesty here but be sensible about it.Also only place the names here after at leas 2/3 of the month passed so you have enough time to evaluate which character is the most fitting to the categorys.

Most of these are hard choices. I hate "best of" lists, because I hate filing things in general, even IRL. However, let me attempt...

1) Favorite Roleplayer:

This is saddening, but I have not had a real, intimate RP session since I've started staffing. I have been trying to get back into playing, hopefully I can manage to. But I will base this award on olden times more than on what goes on right now. "Favorite Roleplayer" is a mad nomination. There can't be one. From the top of my head, characters that I have enjoyed, and therefore their respective players... Marduk, and the mind behind the keyboard, migraine. His mustache was delightful, his crappy BHness while BHs were still shit was hilarious. I dislike his non-playing ways. Mornanve and his super-hyped Vhal archer, before Tyreans were even released. I got very little playtime with him, but that character was hysterical. And for the purposes of this thread's nomination... Aethor and his retarded archer. Good god, that was one of the most immersive characters on the shard. Immense fun to be around. May he poke dolphins in the blowhole for long years to come, it sucks that he doesn't play here anymore. (Of course, there's another bundle of players I could mention, but they prolly know who they are and for this thread, it seemed cuter to reminisce.)

2 Favorite Figure of power:

I would have to say Thorunn here, mostly because I feel only he and Valde have -truly- led their respective groups. The other rulers haven't been around or ruling for long enough to really establish the aura that these two have managed. And of the two, I have played and lived with Thorunn the most. "That is why he is the Jarl" as Sven would put it.

3 Favorite Hero:

This is tough, since most influential characters have tried to be heroes to their own respective groups... Perhaps here, "Hero" can best be understood as someone who has done grave and great sacrifices to further their group's goals, even if they never got acknowledged for it. Have we really had such characters so far? I cannot help but think that level of epic has not been reached yet, at least not consistently... I will have to say the most heroic deed was Koen Ivar Ajnarson dying by the hands of ice giants. An old man pointlessly dies to save his unsavable city. Heroism resides within romantic deeds.

4 Favorite Villain:

Read above... Although this one is easier, as characters who are heroes tend to be villainised by antagonising groups, whereas villains often are deliberately such (in their player's mind). I'd like to say the Mhordul as a whole in that period of Tyris vs Mhordul clans. It was the only time on Khaeros when I was afraid to go hunting in the Grande Pass out of fear of conflict. That is how it should be.

5 Best Warrior:

Mechanically and therefore psychologically, any of Klaus' incarnations. Currently Thurop.

6 Best Cleric:

I would like to see clerics played differently than I see most, I guess. I couldn't name anyone... Perhaps Valde, he seems the most fanatically fervent of them all. I think? I can never really tell with the CC.

7 Best Rogue:

Donovan ap Eachan, I'd like to play with him more. Honorable mention: Roy Durkon, boat stealer extraordinaire.

8 Best Crafter:

I have to say Gunnar Grondson. On one side, because it's the crafter I have played with the most, on the other, because he pulled stuff out of his beard. The thing is, most our crafters are secondary or tertiary characters. It hurts their RP a bit, I think.

9 Best Guild/organisation:

I had feared this question the most, but I am forced to say the Tiddjägern, however lame self-nominating may seem. They simply function wholesomely. They are the most single-minded and solid group I can think of. I would like them to step out of the bounds of tyrean-only and start being a more far-reaching force, however, I realize that is the shortcoming in their ranks (although it is a deliberate one).

10 Friendliest Character:

I don't think anyone can realistically say anything else but "Lidra".

11 Meanest Character:

That is why he is the Jarl. No but really, there are villains who are plain "evil", but not mean. Thorunn is that, though. He is de facto unbearable to talk to. He won't be reasoned with. He's a verbal juggernaut. And that is why he is the Jarl. Balls to the walls.

12 Most Mysterious:

Dmitri Kirilenko. Need I explain why? He wears black. But honestly, I think he is mysterious simply because he seems to have tentacles everywhere. What IS this guy up to?

13 Smartest Character:

The smartest character would probably be one who is smarter than he appears. I get that impression of Talius Volar. He acts like an idiot most of the time, but he can't really be one, can he?

14 The Badass Award:

Malcom McLanne, there is not a shade of doubt in my mind. He beats shit up with his bare hands, gets drunk, and doesn't afraid of anything.

15 Dream team:

The Tidehunters function flawlessly in PvE. They are unbeatable. UO PvE is all about good coordination and patience, and the Tiddjägern are masters of it.

16 Best new character:

Wesley Goode, certainly. While he may seem to be mooking around, he is consistent in his crazyness, and he can have long conversations that prove that the char isn't just haphazardly thrown together. Just tame the inner mook, I am compelled to say this by my Staff Contract (tm).

17 Best new Player:

RossM, because he's been a presence since the moment he's joined. Not many new players can do that. (I must admit I don't recall many old new players, so I have to speak of someone in the present.)

18 Best plot:

Probably the most mass fun was derived from the Insularii attacks and final attack on Insula Magna. It wasn't a complex or brainy plot, which are the ones I usually enjoy, but so far it was prolly the most successful on this shard.

19 Best Staff:

We are a hive mind.
