CLAN TIDDJÄGERN
Brief historyOut of the earliest mists of the Tyrean history the clan Tiddjägern has made itself known all over Tyris. In the long lost time of legends, when Bodvar the Brave tried to unite the Tyreans under his rule, the Tidehunters were the first to accept his vision and lend their strength to his cause. As Bodvar’s son, Njord, began his work on the Tyrean keep, they sent their best stonemasons and woodworkers to work on the keep, and their handiwork can still be seen today. When Swain Njordson set sail to explore the unknown waters of the world, he did so on a ship crafted by the skilled shipwrights of Tiddjägern and half his crew was comprised from members of the clan. They fought and died with Olaf Gunnarson on foreign shores and none dares to say that they did not sell their lives dearly, for many a foe fell under their blades. And while few nowdays remember how the legendary Ulrik looked like, many remember that it was the Tidehunters who rallied to his side to fight the Mhordul threat with a frenzy that only old Ulrik could surpass.
Clan traitsThe Tidehunters are well known amongst the Tyreans as the most outgoing of their people, which is a natural consequence of their trade oriented life. They are skilled seafarers, travelling across all over the world, but where they really excel in is their craft, bits of which has been known to be found as far as the jungles of Azhur, or the scorching deserts of Khemet.
They also claim to be the best shipwright in Tyris, which they constantly enforce by constructing better and better ships for all purposes, from transport to Baelin raiding.
One very peculiar trait that all the male members of the clan family share are their unusually long beards (most ladies would claim that their true length lies elsewhere, but let’s leave it at that).
Notable CharactersKadlin Jorunnson Led the Tiddjägern in Bodvar’s times and was known for his surpassing diplomatic skills which he amply used to further Bodvar’s cause.
Hrefna Gudrundottir Undisputedly the best stonemason and architect the clan has ever produced, Hrefna played a crucial role in the Keep’s construction.
Gerrid Bjorgson Was Swain Njordson’s first mate when they sailed out to explore the outer seas and is credited as the founder of the Tidehunter’s sailing tradition.
