A Player's Guide to Khemet - Part I

This is going to be a constant work-in-progress for a while, I will add more as I add new things to our city and realise new things that need to be added.

First off, none of are technically starting out in Khemet as new babies or strange alien outsiders with a strange case of amnesia, I do understand that the lore is a bit difficult to pour through from the get-go, so here are just some "basics" to get you started.

*While Khemet -is- loosely based on Ancient Egypt/North Africa/Middle East, it is still Khemet and not these other places. We all speak Khemetar and Common [to change between languages the commans is .speaklanguage _________], we do not speak Farsi, Arabic, Pashtun, etc. So please refrain from using these real life languages in game.

*Some basic titles in game - These would be common knowledge for some one that had grown up in Khemet, I know it's hard to keep everything straight and to know &/or assume everything so here we go [If I forget any, just let me know]

*The Neferan is considered to be nothing less than a God in human form, therefore he should be referred to as 'Exalted One' [Current Neferan is Korabis]
*The Grand Vizier is referred to as 'Lord' or 'My Lord'.[Current Grand Vizier is Neshun-Ris]
*The High Priestess of Mah'tet is referred to as 'High Priestess'. [Current High Priestess is Cantara]
*All Lesser Priests and Priestesses are referred to as 'Priest/Priestess'
*Viziers are referred to as 'Emissary', if you know thier name then 'Emissary [name]'
*The Vashnir is referred to as 'Commander'[Current Vashnir is Mu'tasim Amir]
*The Kuliakh is referred to as 'Captain'
*Kaphiri, Khalasha and all other 'ranks' not listed are not referred to by anything other than their names, but it should be noted that because of their positions, should still be treated with respect.

*writs of passage explanation:

1) For outsiders - When a non-Khemetar comes to visit Khemet they may be given a writ of passage, this writ allows them extended stay within the city, usually at the home and expense of the member of the Khalasha. This writ also allows them to buy Khemetar goods at the discretion of the Khemetar merchant [But we Khemetar REALLY like our monies, so to turn down legal business would be an affront to the Gods!] Outsiders, even those with an official writ, will
still pay more for Khemetar goods, but both parties are to expect this as par normal. Writs can only be issued by the Grand Vizier or the High Priestess.

2) For Khemetar - Writs of passage can be obtained in several ways, the most common of which is the top six[6] merchant families who donate the most at the Spring Festival to Mah'tet. The six families who receive Khalasha status will receive writs with a duration of one in-game year. If the members of the Khalasha decide to travel abroad, they may also take 1-2 others along with them as protection at their own expense. The Grand Vizier must be contacted before the trip out of town so that the bodyguards names can be added to the writ. Note: All merchants conducting business without permission or a Writ will automatically forfeit their rights to any writs for one year.

*All Viziers needing to visit their assigned nation for business will need to request a writ from the Grand Vizier.
*All members of the Khalasha who wish to have an outsider visit and/or stay with them will need to request a writ from the Grand Vizier, these writs can be turned down at the Grand Vizier's discretion.

If Khemetar wish to leave the city/desert to hunt, gather supplies [raw materials that can be found in nature], and such, they do NOT need a writ of passage to do so. Just be aware that 1) If you are outside of the desert, Khemet will not protect you if you either commit a crime or a crime is committed against you 2) You are not allowed to buy/sell any goods from other cities without a writ, even if we have a trade agreement with said city.

*end part I*

The Throne has decreed that the ranks in The Khemetar Army will now be as follows:
Recruit > Soldier > Kuliakh > Mnemaran > Vashnir
