I've decided to post a little more in-depth information about the Positions that you, the players, can obtain in Vhaluran (and yes, such posts will eventually be made for the other races positions as well), just to remind you all that there are plenty of pre-existing goals your character could wish to achieve. If you have any further questions reguarding any of these positions, please feel free to ask.

Here they are..

<------------------------------------>

First Knight: Leader of the Knights who's authority is secondary only to the King, only one First Knight at a time, obviously. The only way to obtain this position is to already be a Knight, and be chosen for it by the King himself if the current First Knight dies/retires/gets stripped of his title/etc.

Mechanical Requirements: Same as Knights.
Other Requirements: Same as Knights.
Bonus Items: Same as Knights.
Titles: Prefix = 'Sir' RP Title = 'the Vhalurian First Knight'

Knights: As it states on the Vhalurian Prestige Class section, either nobles or commoners are granted permission by the King or First Knight to become a squire, meaning you have to earn the ability to attempt (note the word ATTEMPT) to become a Knight. Then you would become the squire of an existing knight, who trains you up and teaches you the code and shield prayer and really puts you through the ringer.. After a good deal of time, varying on how the squire character performs, the knight would present the squire to the king or first knight stating that s/he beleives the squire is finally ready for knighthood. If the King/First Knight agrees, then you would go through the knighting ceremony and become a full-fledged knight.

Mechanical Requirements: Must be trained to wear heavy armour, ride horses, and anything else the Knight you're squired to decides to train you in (Preferably the dragoon class, but it isn't necessarily a requirement as long as you can fulfil the training).
Other Requirements: Must be active and the character must be suitable for the position.
Bonus Items: A Vhalurian Cloak & Military Surcoat (if the character is not part of a noble house that has their own surcoat, in which case they can wear that one instead if they choose to), likely they would be supplied with a horse and basic suit of platemail, if they dont already have those things.
Titles: Prefix = 'Sir'/'Dame' RP Title = 'the Vhalurian Knight'
Additional Information: The knightly style of Sir is accompanied by the given name, and optionally the surname. So, Gabriel Caliborne may be called Sir Gabriel or Sir Gabriel Caliborne, but never Sir Caliborne. Similarly, a female knight may be addressed as Dame Livia or Dame Livia Brenton, but never Dame Brenton.

Guard Captain: Head of the Vhalurian Guard, generally a Sergeant who is promoted to the position by the First Knight and King. When it comes to military decisions, his authority is superceded only by the King himself, though the First Knight has the authority to step in and correct or discipline the Captain, possibly even relieve him of duty, if necessary.

Mechanical Requirements: Same as Sergeants.
Other Requirements: Same as Sergeants.
Bonus Items: Same as Sergeant + 'Ownership' of the Guard Barracks house sign.
Titles: Prefix = 'Captain' RP Title = 'of the Vhalurian Guard'

Guard Sergeants: The Vhalurian Guard typically never has more than two Sergeants at most, promoted from the lower ranks by the Captain. The roll of a Sergeant is to assist the Captain with the general overseeing of the guard, as well as fulfilling any specific duties bestowed upon them by the Captain.

Mechanical Requirements: Must not be a Rogue, Cleric, or Crafter Class (the Bounty Hunter class is preferable, but by NO means a requirement).
Other Requirements: Must be active and the character must be suitable for the Guard, must also know the laws of vhaluran and actively update the Guard Board as needed.
Bonus Items: Vhalurian Military Surcoat, Armor enameled to match the rest of the Vhalurian Guards, Access to the Vhalurian Guard Board (controls the AI of the NPC Guards, who they attack/dont attack/arrest/etc), Co-Ownership of the Guard Barracks.
Titles: Titles: Prefix = 'Sergeant' RP Title = 'of the Vhalurian Guard'

Guards: The Guards of Vhaluran are the basic rank-holding members of the Vhalurian Guard (All the NPC's would fall under this Category. Due to the vast numbers of which, Vhaluran will never have more than 5 PCs as 'Guards' at any one time. RP-wise because it takes a lot of money to pay all those guards, OOC-Wise because with the way our NPC Guards work, we dont need more PC guards than that, and we find it somewhat lame when half a city are all members of the guard/army) All Guards are hired by the Captain, with possible input from the Sergeants.

Mechanical Requirements: Same as Sergeants.
Other Requirements: Same as Sergeants.
Bonus Items: Armour enameled to match the rest of the Vhalurian Guard, ability to live in the Guard Barracks (Bed, Private chest, etc) tax free.
Titles: Prefix = N/A RP Title = 'the Vhalurian Guard'

Cleric Patriarch: Basically the Patriarch is to the religious arm of Vhaluran, what the First Knight is to the military arm. His word, when it comes to matters of the cathedral and religion, are generally law. If something happens to the Patriarch, then the current Clerics would all get together and decide who will be the next patriarch, usually by discussing it in closed meetings, and then voting for the one they beleive can best fulfil the duties, though no cleric can vote for himself.. The King actually has no say in who the Patriarch is or will be. Though the King obviously has more authority than any member of the church when it comes to his kingdom, the running of the Cathedral is generally left to the Patriarch and his Clerics.

Mechanical Requirements: Must be of the Cleric Class.
Other Requirements: Must know as much as possible about vhalurian religion.
Bonus Items: Cleric Robe + Staff. 'Ownership' of the bedrooms in the Cathedral, so he can give them to clerics, also his own seperate room in the Cathedral, tax free.
Titles: Prefix = 'Patriarch' RP title = 'of the Vhalurian Church'

Clerics: Cleric is the main rank within the church of Vhaluran, (unlike 'Initiate' which is basically just the term for any Vhalurian of the Cleric class who has not yet met with the Patriarch to officially join the church). To become a Cleric is no greatly difficult task, as long as one has dedicated themselves to the gods, and sought out the Patriarch, making known their wish to join and aid the church however they may.. Unless they give the Patriarch some reason to refuse them, but that is a very rare occurance.

Mechanical Requirements: Must be of the Cleric Class.
Other Requirements: Must know at least the basics of vhalurian religion.
Bonus Items: Cleric Robe + Staff. Ability to live within the Cathedral, tax free.
Titles: Prefix = N/A RP title = the Vhalurian Cleric

Nobility & Noble Houses: Knights and the Patriarch are considered nobility, whether or not they're members of a full blown noble house.. Aside from that, the king can bestow nobility upon anyone for being especially useful and helpful to the nation. As for giving a Keep to someone and labeling them, a 'Noble House' (which is a bigger deal than normal noble, as that only effects one individual, not their whole family) They would obviously need to actually have a family, and be worthy, as a whole, of the honour.. Also, to be clear, the Nobility of a Noble house does not extend to every single member of the family, (this is to prevent 10 of someone's friends from making third cousins and such just so they can play nobility). The noble lineage only includes Man, Wife, and while their Children would be considered noble, only the future Husband/Wife/Children of their first born will receive the same status (this is also to try and keep nobility special, and not overly common and annoying). So if you're the first born of a noble house, you may have siblings which are also noble, but only your children will get to pass on that status, your siblings children will not (On a side note, it would be grand if family members actually looked like family members, similar skin/hair tones, perhaps they're all large, small, fat, or skinny.. Basically anything that really makes them seem related other than just having the same last name.. Unless they're married of course, thats obviously different).

Mechanical Requirements: None.
Other Requirements: Must have really, really earned it, and even once they have it they still need to make sure they serve the nation in some way or another to keep the status, else the King may revoke it.
Bonus Items: 'Surcoat of House X', but only for Noble Houses, not individual Nobles (there is a limited selection of these, but I'm thinking Noble Houses won't be common enough for it to become a problem for quite a long time), a Vhalurian Keep (again, only for noble houses. See above about limited selection. On a side note, the Vhalurian Military can temporarily sieze control of any Keep, if it's necessary to do so for defense purposes).
Titles for Individual Nobles: Prefix = N/A RP title = 'the Vhalurian Nobleman/woman' (these titles are replaced by the titles of official positions, if the individual has one).
Titles for Leaders of Noble Houses: Prefix = 'Lord/Lady' RP title = 'the Vhalurian Nobleman/woman' (these titles are replaced by the titles of official positions, if the individual has one).

There may, at the King's discretion, be additional positions now and then, such as Ambassador, Royal Advisor, Etcetera, if the need arises. But such positions are not standard and should not be the goal of your character, as the King might not find a need for such a position to be filled at the time.
