1. The Creation Chamber

When you create your character you will be taken to an area with a number of stones in it, to set up your character you need to visit each one of them in turn. Note that any changes you made during the default UO character creation apart from your gender will be undone, but dont worry, you will be able to set up with even more options than usual.

2. Culture Stone

The first stone you will come to is the culture stone, here you will be able to pick one of 5 different races to belong to. This will determine your default language, amongst the other things.

You will also recieve 100 points to place as your starting stats, up to a maximum of 50. You will notice that you have started with 10 points in all 6 statistics, Strength, Hitpoints, Dexterity, Stamina, Intellect and Mana. Note that unlike other shards and OSI, raising Strength will not raise your Hitpoints as well, they are all seperate stats.

When you click on the arrow pointing up on the gump, you will raise that stat by 5 points, keep placing your statpoints until you are satisfied with the outcome. Below I will list what I think is a very balanced distribution for all classes to start with:

  • Strength: 50
  • Hitpoints: 40
  • Dexterity: 20
  • Stamina: 30
  • Intellect: 10
  • Mana: 10

The reasoning behind this is that you need a lot of STR to carry things, especially low level gathering quests, enough hitpoints to survive and enough stamina to not leave you too tired to move if you are fleeing and accidently push through a small bird. The INT and Mana do not play an important role in the beginning, even for clerics and mages, as they probably do not have any spells at that point.

3. Height & Weight Stone

This stone lets you adjust your character's height and weight for RP purposes, which will be visible by all players on your profile (sorry ladies). As an example 100 Petrae (Units) in height = 180 CM and 100 Petrae in weight = 80 KG. For the imperial users amongst you, your height and weight will be listed on the stone in inches and pounds as well.

You will also notice the racial minimum/average/max values, meaning you cannot go below or above those numbers on this stone.

4. Deity Stone

This stone will let you select what is most important to your character. This may affect your character in hidden ways, and remember - staff can all see what you chose.

5. Initial Skills Stone

This is where things get really interesting, no longer do we have classes as we used to, but each character starts with a pool of 10k CP (Character points) to spend on a Pool of feats, or Skills, it will all become clear when you see it:

The NEXT tab will take you to a new section with Sub-skills, for example:

6. Character Customization Stone

This stone will allow you to select hairstyles, beards, skin tone, hair colour and age. Different cultures and genders have different options.

7. Backgrounds Stone

On this stone you can select minor traits, both positive and negative to add depth to your character, the positive ones will lower your total CP cap, while the negative one's will increase your CP Maximum.

8. Finishing Up

Once you are satisfied with your character, just step into the portal to be transported to your race's starting village, welcome to Khaeros.
