Notable Characters
Korabis, the current Neferan
The most powerful man in the whole of
Khemet, Korabis is the sixth male of his bloodline to
sit upon the throne. He has aged considerably since the
day he became the Neferan, being now in his late thirties.
However, he is still a stunningly handsome man with a
majestic presence and deep, commanding voice. The Khemetar
worship him as if Korabis were one of the divine. In fact,
so far, he has given them no reason to believe otherwise.
Mu’tasim, leader of the Kaphiri
Mu’tasim is one of those rare individuals
in which loyalty, physical and mental prowess converge in
harmony. The Neferan always heeds his advice, even though
his position would not really demand him to do anything
else
other than to fight in the defence of his sovereign.
Notwithstanding this detail, Mu’tasim is a veteran of many
combats and a man that has reached his forties with
nothing but glorious deeds to have his people remember him
by.
Neshun-Ris, the Grand Vizier
A thin and slightly curved old man is
commonly seen standing beside the Khemetar Neferan. His
apparent lack of physical power is more than
counterbalanced by his remarkable intellect, given that no
man in Khemet has ever succeeded in beating Neshun-Ris
in a debate. Nonetheless, it is somewhat common knowledge
that he resents the amount of respect the Neferan has
towards the leader of the Kaphiri.
Cantara, the High Priestess of
Khemet
A woman whose beauty is shadowed only by
her ambitious designs, Cantara leads the Priests and
Priestesses of the Khemetar religion with an unusual
combination of grace and deception. Some speak of hideous
crimes committed by her request, but anyone who dares
voice such an opinion is bound to be arrested and cast
down to slavery for verbally assaulting such an important
government official without any tangible evidence.
Hashim al Din, the Khemetar Vashnir
A man of remarkable honesty and loyalty,
specially for a Khemetar, Hashim is certainly not given
the amount of prestige and respect he deserves. This is
probably due to his quiet and introverted personality that
has somewhat hindered his advancement within the Khemetar
ranks. His personal friends always state that he should
have become a Kaphiri or a Vizier, but he is dismissive of
such comments, saying that he is content about where he is
right now.
