The Koen’s Genealogy
Current Koen - Ivar Ajnarson:
a man in his late years, Ivar can boast having led the Tyreans with
great wisdom and without fear of battle. In his personal life,
however, he has suffered many a loss.
Gjalt Ivarson: Ivar’s primogen and
former Jarl of Tyris was the pride and hope of his whole clan, but
died at sea on a journey to Azhur. The prince was a tough young man,
well-versed in all the arts of war. It was rumoured that his death
was caused by a slow-acting poison from an Azhuran enemy. In his
younger days aboard the Jarlsgaard ship, Gjalt won several victories
in the violent raids against Khemet. In the songs, he is referred to
as Gjalt, the Wavesplitter.
Ajnar Ulrikson: Ivar’s father was a man of few
words and actions. Some even considered him to be just a fat, lazy
old man. However, those that saw him fight would always defend his
honour by stating that he was the greatest warrior of his time, for
he fought with a detachment from his own life that allowed him to
rush into battle with a frenzied glee unparalled by his peers.
Ulrik Jorgson: at this time and age, few
remember the real appearance of old Ulrik, the Wolfbane, and none, of
his ancestors. At least in Tyris, because the Mhordul might recall a
towering bearded man sending back to K’dath-Mal wave after wave of
Wolfriders with the mighty blows of his war hammer.
Jorg Guntherson: was a very religious man. He
ordered the construction of the docks near the Temple of Ohlm to
ensure that it would always be supplied with everything it needed.
Gunther Gustavson: ordered the construction of
the city’s library, to preserve the knowledge of his people and also
the books and scrolls looted or traded abroad.
Gustav Svenson: greatly improved the internal
commerce by ordering the construction of the local market, as well
as the docks in front of it.
Sven Olafson: created the position of Jarl and
assigned its responsabilities, because of the death of his father.
Olaf Gunnarson: was the last Koen to battle
and die abroad. Before that, he ordered the construction of the
guard towers near by the entrances of the city.
Gunnar Swainson: stimulated the expansion of
the city from the lake towards the ocean by ordering the
construction of the city’s main docks, the warehouses and the
shipwright building near it.
Swain Njordson: is said to have been the
responsible for the construction of the farmland’s docks and the
beginning of the Tyrean tradition in seafare. It was during his time
that the recipe for steel was first discovered by a smith named
Runolf Odellson.
Njord Bodvarson: ordered the construction of
the Tyrean Keep, which he himself took part in, cutting and
transporting much of the wood used to create its walls.
Bodvar, the first Koen: all that is known
about Bodvar is permeated by myths and legends. It is said, however,
that Bodvar was the bravest man that has ever lived, for he was the
one that led the Tyreans from a nomadic lifestyle to settle by the
Tyris river, giving birth to their civilization as it is.
